OUR SERVICES

Therapy for young kids

We use naturalistic, play-based, research-backed strategies to help children build communication, social, and daily living skills. Our goal is to teach you practical, everyday ways to support your child’s growth—woven into your real life, not added on top of it.

Some young autistic children have frequent meltdowns or engage in scary behaviors like aggression or self-injury. Avela providers partner with parents to prevent these behaviors before they happen, using compassionate, neurodiversity-affirming approaches.

OUR SERVICES

Therapy for older kids

We use evidence-based strategies to help adolescents and teens manage big emotions, build healthy relationships, and handle stress and anxiety—all through a strength-based, neurodiversity-affirming lens.

For parents facing meltdowns, aggression, or defiance, we teach proactive, peaceful ways to resolve conflict and strengthen family connection.

OUR SERVICES

Therapy for profound autism

We help parents of children with profound autism navigate services, school support, and the transition to adulthood. Our focus is on protecting the child’s safety, supporting family wellbeing, and building independence.

Our providers bring deep expertise in helping caregivers safely and proactively manage complex behaviors like self-injury and aggression.

Frequently asked questions

If you have questions, call or text us at 855-328-5931.
We’re available Monday through Friday from 9am-8pm EST.

We know your time is limited, so we designed our program to fit your life—not the other way around.

At your first virtual visit, you’ll meet your provider and talk about what’s going on for your family: your concerns, your goals, and what you hope to accomplish together.

From there, you and your provider will build a care plan—a personalized roadmap that lays out how you’ll work toward your goals and how you’ll stay connected along the way.

For some families, that looks like quick 15-minute check-ins a few times a week, plus messaging support in between. For others, a weekly hour-long session feels right. Many families land somewhere in between.

You and your provider will make a plan together, so you’re never left wondering what’s next.

Your family will be matched with a dedicated provider who holds a Master’s or Doctoral degree in behavioral health (e.g., psychology, special education) and brings specialized expertise in evidence-based, neurodiversity-affirming care—so you can trust that your family is in skilled, compassionate hands.

Depending on your child’s needs and your goals as a parent, your Avela therapist may work with your child directly, with you as the caregiver, or with both of you together.

Our focus is on helping your child grow—and helping you feel confident in how to support them. That means giving you clear strategies, useful insights, and the kind of support that makes a real difference at home and beyond.

No—joining Avela won’t interfere with your current ABA or other therapy services. You can continue with any existing providers while starting care with us. Our model is designed to work alongside what you already have in place, especially during transitions.

That said, many families find that after a few months of working with Avela, they feel more confident, better supported, and often realize they no longer need as many separate services. Our goal is to simplify your care, not complicate it—so you spend less time coordinating providers, and more time seeing real progress.

We make it simple to get started — schedule your first appointment anytime online. The process takes less than 5 minutes.

If you have questions or prefer to schedule over the phone, call or text us at 855-328-5931. We’re available Monday through Friday from 9am-8pm EST.
